How To Choose The Right Propagation Station

Five plant propagation stations in a group on a kitchen countertop. Propagate plant cuttings in water. Natural timber frame with suspended glass propagation vessels handcrafted in Australia. Free shipping, Afterpay and Apple Pay available.

Our handcrafted propagation stations are perfect for propagating plant cuttings for transfer to soil, or as a permanent home for some of your favourite plant varieties.

Each design features slightly different glassware and will suit some plant cuttings better than others, so in this How To Guide we’ll walk you through the main differences and which propagation station will work best for you.

Most of our propagation station designs are available in multiple sizes, which we identify as Solo, Duo, Trio and Quad, for one, two three or four glass propagation vessels.

Fleur & Arwen

Fleur and Arwen are our two most loved propagation stations, and it’s easy to see why. They both feature round glass vessels suspended from a solid timber hanger and best suit larger plant cuttings that require a little more room for their roots.

Both Fleur and Arwen are available in Solo, Duo or Trio sizes, or 3-Packs which include one of each size. The question is whether your preference is for a wooden frame or metal legs. Shop Fleur and Arwen now.

We find that these plant cuttings pair perfectly with Fleur and Arwen:

  • Fiddle Leaf Fig
  • Heartleaf Philodendron
  • Arrowhead Plant
  • Monstera Adansonnii

Paisley & Harper

Paisley and Harper both feature round glass vessels suspended by a 4 millimetre carbon fibre rod, which runs across the glass vessel’s opening through a hole in either side. These designs suit smaller plant cuttings as there is restricted room for roots when inserting and removing them from the glass vessel.

Paisley is available in Solo, Duo or Trio sizes, while Harper is available in Solo, Duo Even and Duo Split sizes. Both Paisley and Harper are available in 3-Packs which include one of each size. Ready to take a look? Shop Paisley and Harper now.

We find that these plant cuttings pair perfectly with Paisley and Harper:

  • String of Pearls
  • Chain of Hearts
  • Donkey Tail
  • Rubber Plant

Clementine & Florence

Clementine and Florence both feature test tube glass vessels, mounted in either an open-box wooden frame, or solid timber base. These designs are fantastic for growing new roots where a little extra length is required, or propagating taller plant cuttings that need submerged nodes to grow roots.

Clementine is available in Solo, Duo or Trio sizes or a 3-Pack with one of each size, while Florence is available in Trio or Quad sizes, or a 2-Pack with one of each size. Time to pick? Shop Clementine and Florence now.

We find that these plant cuttings pair perfectly with Clementine and Florence:

  • Mini Monstera (Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma)
  • Pilea
  • Peperomias
  • Monstera Deliciosa

Ella Mae & Madeline

Stuck for space to propagate? These cuties are the perfect solution. Ella Mae is handcrafted from a solid timber block with the circular window showcasing a single test tube glass vessel. The solid timber cutout formed during the creation of Ella Mae is repurposed as Madeline. She also features a single test tube glass vessel, but is particularly stunning when styled in a 3-Pack.

The Chain of Hearts is our favourite plant cutting to use with these propagation stations and the glass vessels match those of Clementine and Florence, so they complement one another beautifully. Want to take a look? Shop Ella Mae and Madeline now.
